This course consists of 2 sections: BIT (Basic Instructor Training) and NRA Shotgun Instructor Training.
BIT Course topics include:

NRA Shotgun Instructor topics include:
- Basics of Shotgun Shooting Lesson Plans (Introduction)
- Shotgun Knowledge and Safe Gun Handling
- Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Shotgun Shooting
- Basic Shotgun Instructional Method
- Firing the First Shots
- Shotgun and the Shooting Skills- Practical Exercise
- Evaluating and Improving Performance of Beginning Rifle Shooters
- Continued Opportunities for Skill Improvement
Prerequisite: You must have completed the NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting Course, you must be able to demonstrate safe Shotgun handling and operations with a pump action, hinge action, and semi-automatic shotgun as outlined in your BoSS Handbook. You will need to qualify on a trap range, shooting 13/25 targets hit. Documented proof ATA or NSSA match scores of greater than 50% is acceptable. I will forward the prerequisites after you have been interviewed (Questionnaire review).
IMPORTANT: Students must not be ineligible to possess a firearm. If you feel that you might have an impediment to firearm ownership, please contact the instructor prior to registration.
$395 for Tuition, Books, and Range Fees. VETS/LEO Family discounts are available, Ammunition required: 75 rounds. Course time: Approximately 16 hours over 2 day or 4 evening sessions.
