What are you training for?
Most students arrive with one of four goals. Choose yours for the short answer, the classes to take in order, and the next date on the range.
Do I still need training to carry in Florida?
Eligible adults have been able to carry concealed in Florida without a license since July 1, 2023. A Concealed Weapon License still matters if you carry in states that recognize it. NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting exceeds the license’s training requirement and puts you on the range with an instructor, not in a three-hour lecture.

How do I become an NRA certified instructor in Florida?
Complete the NRA student course in your discipline, pass the pre-course handling and shooting check, then take the instructor course, which includes Basic Instructor Training. An NRA Training Counselor teaches every instructor course here and endorses graduates. Most tracks take about 16 hours over two days or four evenings.

What does a Florida Class G license require?
FDACS requires applicants to be at least 18 and to complete 28 hours of classroom and range training, then four hours of requalification every year. We teach the eight-hour G28 range day and the annual G4 requalification; the 20 classroom hours can be completed online through our training partner.

Can you train our officers, guards or range staff as a group?
Yes. We run NRA Range Safety Officer and Chief RSO courses, law-enforcement handgun coaching and FDACS-compliant requalifications for agencies, clubs and security companies. Past groups include park rangers, range club staff and Brinks security officers, with sessions scheduled around your team’s shifts.

On the current calendar, NRA Pistol Instructor is $399 and Chief Range Safety Officer is $395, including tuition, books and range fees. Other instructor courses are priced on their course pages. You supply the ammunition listed for your course, and veteran and LEO family discounts are available.
Yes. The eight-hour course exceeds Florida’s training requirement for a Concealed Weapon License and includes coached live fire and a nationally standardized qualification. It is not the two-to-three-hour short course. See Basics of Pistol Shooting

FDACS requires four hours of requalification training each year. Our G4 requalification is $129 all-in. Bring your duty equipment and 150 rounds, plus your valid Class G and your C or D license.
Yes. For NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting and Basic CCW, handguns (and holsters for CCW) are available if you don’t own one yet. Mention it when you register so we can set one aside.
