Paul  Goodwin – Adjunct Firearms Instructor

Paul Goodwin is a retired law enforcement officer with over 22 years of experience in New Jersey, where he retired at the rank of Detective Sergeant. During his career, he served in investigative and supervisory roles, gaining extensive experience in firearms, use-of-force decision-making, and high-risk operations.

He holds a Master of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree, and is licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) as a Class “K” Firearms Instructor (K3500088), Class “G” Statewide Firearm License (G3509223), Class “D” Security Officer License (D3522851), Class “DI” Security Officer Instructor License (DI3500137), Class “C” Private Investigator License (C3500370), and Class “M” Security Agency and Private Investigative Agency Manager License (M3500025).

Paul is an NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor (Handgun & Shotgun) and an NRA Private Security Firearms Instructor (Handgun & Shotgun). He is also an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and NRA Range Safety Officer (NRA Instructor ID: 252457676).

He holds additional certifications including OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, American Heart Association CPR / AED / First Aid, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Instructor – TEEX, SABRE Law Enforcement OC Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor, and has completed crisis medicine training focused on emergency trauma response and life-saving interventions.

Paul’s training approach emphasizes safety, accountability, and practical decision-making, providing students with real-world insight applicable to both civilian and professional environments.

Paul is our Adjunct Instructor and has been with GUNSAFETY4U® since 2025.
