Personal Protection Outside the Home – NRA Advanced Certification Course
Best For: Experienced and trained gun owners who seek advanced focused training for personal protection while carrying concealed, and wish get more training than an entry level license “short” course or Basic/CWP course.

Have you completed the Personal Protection Inside the Home Course and want the same quality advanced training for times you are out and about? This is the course for you… This is advanced Personal Protection training that goes beyond what is taught in a CCW/CWP course. This NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home class is a HANDS-ON 2-day intermediate and advanced-level shooting course on how to use a firearm for self-defense. BOTH BASIC & ADVANCED MODULES WILL BE TAUGHT.
Course topics include (but are not limited to):
- Introduction to Concealed Carry Safety and the Defensive Mindset, Mindset and Mental Preparation, Awareness, Ethics and Responsibility, Fundamental
- Gun Safety Rules, Special Carry Safety Considerations, Storage Considerations Inside and Outside the home
- Intro: Self Defense and Concealed Carry, Mental Prep and Mindset, Avoiding Violent Encounters o Psych and Physio changes during an attack, Differences in Self Defense: Inside vs. Outside the home, Responding to a Violent Confrontation, Legal and Social Aftermath
- Legal Aspects of Concealed Carry and Self Defense (*Taught by a FL Police or K Instructor)
- Carry Modes and Concealment, Benefits and Limitations of Various Modes
- Presenting from Concealment (Range) Shooting Qualification
- Presentation, Position, Movement (Range) Shooting Qualification, Barricade, Multiple Targets, Dominant & Weak Hand, Point Shooting
- Special Shooting Techniques, Hip Shooting, Moving Rearward, Standing to Kneeling, Kneeling/ Squatting/ Sitting, Standing turn 90/ 180 degrees both
- Directions, Extended Range & Low Light Conditions
Prerequisites: NRA’s Personal Protection Inside the Home Certificate or by passing the Pre-Course Assessment
(Contact the instructor for the form, it’s not too bad…). This is not a course for the novice. Students should be safe and competent in basic gun handling and should be able to keep most of their shots on a sheet of letter sized paper at 21 feet before taking this course.
