Steve Scalise began his Marksmanship Career in the Late 1990s in Upstate NY. He served 27 years as a Law Enforcement Officer (Greece Police Dept. and Rochester, NY Police Dept.). During that time, he had a 17 year assignment to road patrol division, a 10 year assignment to criminal investigations division, was a Field Training Officer since 2001, and Promoted to Sergeant in 2011
Steve is an exceptional Instructor, with deep experience in Law Enforcement Firearms Instruction and Range and Armory Management.
- Firearms instructor since 2002
- Firearm armorer (Pistol, rifle, shotgun) beginning in 2003
- Reality-Based Training (Force-on-force) Instructor since 2008
- Range master for 95+ member dept. for six years
- Emergency Vehicle Operation Instructor since 2019
- NYS DCJS certified police officer/sergeant/instructor (ret.)
- FAA certified private pilot
- Married with four children
Steve is certified as:
- Certified Pistol Instructor (NRA)
- NRA Chief Range Safety Officer
Like all GUNSAFETY4U® Faculty, Steve is a Volunteer RSO at his County Range, the Manatee Gun and Archery Club. Steve is Married with 4 children.
